"Returned" is a feature length documentary that follows several Nepali child soldiers including Asha, a young Nepali girl, who was sent home from the Maoist's People's Liberation Army after the cease fire. Asha joined the Maoist army when she was 14-years-old. For this young low-caste girl, joining the Maoist was a pathway to a future with education and employment. IAMEY, Niger, 15 June 2007 -- The sight of children toiling in the streets is part of the daily landscape here in Niger's capital. In one of the poorest countries in the world, two-thirds of children under the age of 14 work.

At the launch of a global campaign for birth registration, Archbishop Desmond Tutu joined UNICEF and its partner, PLAN, in calling on governments to take action. Birth registration allows children access to healthcare and education and better protection from illegal adoption, abduction and trafficking. In short, they will be able to prove their identity and claim the rights of citizens.

This part of a BBC documentary gives the history of the Auschwitz concentration camp through interviews with women who were there. Irma Grese was one of the SS who supervised the women's camp at Auschwitz Birkenau.
Fatuma is a woman who escaped the conflict of Darfur. Armed conflict displaces people from their homes and livelihoods. Women often have to cope with the loss of close relatives and find new way to support themselves and their families.
